About the HBHS Girls Golf Program

Huntington Beach High School Girls Golf is a year-round program for those girls who make one of our three teams (Varsity, Junior Varsity and Frosh/Soph). We play in the highly-competitive Sunset Conference, which is divided into the Surf and Wave leagues.

For 2024, league compositions are as follows:
Surf: Huntington Beach, Los Alamitos, Fountain Valley and Marina
Wave: Edison, Laguna Beach, Newport Harbor and Corona Del Mar

Each summer, we hold a summer golf camp at The Huntington Club, including golf instruction and video analysis by THC golf pros. Team try-outs are typically held early August, after completion of summer camps. We ask our players to wrap up summer vacations and be ready to play by the middle of August.

High school girls golf is a fall season sport. We kick off in August with The Oiler Open tournament, which the girls qualify for based on scores from tryouts. Competitive non-league and Sunset Conference matches begin late August and run through mid-October. Post-season play occurs from mid-October through mid-November. The rest of the year the girls are actively involved with skill development, internal and external competition, and team building exercises.

Our Varsity team has the privilege of hosting its home matches at The Huntington Club in Huntington Beach. Junior Varsity and Frosh/ Soph home matches are held at Meadowlark Golf Club.

The Huntington Beach Girls Golf program prides itself on the quality of our student-athlete program. The girls are committed to representing Huntington Beach High School with integrity, sportsmanship, academic excellence and a winning tradition.

We are proud to have won six Sunset League Championships!
